The Watchbill vs Better Stack for MSPs
Short answer
Better Stack and The Watchbill both tell you when a website is down, but they are built for different jobs. Better Stack is a large platform that combines uptime checks with on-call scheduling, logs, metrics, error tracking, and status pages, and it prices those parts separately. The Watchbill does one job: it watches client websites for an MSP and gives each client its own status page and report. This guide compares the two using Better Stack's public pricing page as checked on 13 October 2026 and The Watchbill's own pricing page.

How each one is priced
Better Stack's free tier includes 10 monitors and heartbeats, 1 status page, and Slack and email alerts. Paid use is built from parts. A responder license, the seat that receives uptime alerts, is $34 a month or $29 a month on yearly billing. Uptime monitoring includes 10 monitors, and each additional 50 monitors is $25 a month or $21 on yearly. One status page is included, and each additional public status page is $15 a month or $12 on yearly. Your total depends on how many people take alerts, how many sites you watch, and how many client pages you publish, so this page does not reduce it to a single figure.
The Watchbill prices by the number of sites you check. Free covers 5. Monthly and yearly plans are both priced. Starter is $9.00 a month or $90.00 a year for 50 checks. Pro is $15.00 a month or $150.00 a year for 100. Business is $29.00 a month or $290.00 a year for 250. A year is ten months' price, which is two months free. The pricing page has a Monthly and Yearly toggle. Each client can have a status page on every plan, and those pages do not cost extra. On Pro and Business, 100 more checks are $8.00 a month or $96.00 a year. A yearly block is twelve months at the monthly block price, not that ten-month discount.

What Better Stack does that The Watchbill does not
Better Stack is the stronger choice if you need an on-call rotation with phone and SMS alerts, checks from several countries, or monitors for ports, cron jobs, and multi-step browser flows. Its status pages can also take subscribers, run on your own domain, and be white-labelled as paid add-ons. The Watchbill does not offer any of those today. Its checks run from US East and US West only, and it checks HTTPS URLs. Fewer false alarms is the note on why two regions have to agree.
How The Watchbill helps
The Watchbill is meant for the MSP whose daily question is simple: which client site is down, and has a ticket been opened? Each client gets its own checks, alert address, status page, and monthly report. An outage opens only when both US regions see the site down, which keeps one region's network trouble from waking anyone. When they agree, one more check about 30 seconds later confirms it. If they disagree, the wait is about two minutes.
On Pro and Business, the alert can go to the mailbox your PSA already turns into tickets: ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA, Syncro, ServiceNow, ServiceDesk Plus, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, SysAid, and Kaseya BMS. It can also go to Slack, PagerDuty, a signed webhook, or Microsoft Teams. It does not call those products' APIs, and it does not close the ticket. How uptime alerts become PSA tickets shows the mailbox. If the page you need is an on-call rota, PagerDuty is the path The Watchbill already sends. The outage log turns confirmed outages into a time-entry CSV for billing. If you are moving from Better Stack, The Watchbill reads its CSV export and shows a preview first. CSV import is that step. The same monitors sit beside the others in Pingdom alternatives for MSPs.
The short version
Better Stack is a broad platform that suits a team running its own infrastructure with an on-call rota. The Watchbill is a smaller tool for an MSP watching many clients' sites, with a page and a report for each client and a path into the PSA. If the second description sounds like your week, start free on one client, or compare the plans.
